The People
Rodush has named her army “Rac's Steel”, in homage to the Goddess in which they place their faith. It is widely known as the most skilled and deadly army to walk the earth. Their sole occupation for centuries has been warfare, and they have perfected it, and turned it into a lethal art. They are without equal. Each individual trains from the time they are able to wield a blade until they die. But Rodush's soldiers are not merely brutes who possess strength and skill. Her people are also well educated, and they hone their minds as well as their weapons.
Almost every single one of Rodush's people are skilled warriors. Most are also farmers such, when not taking their turn at defending the land which they till. While not on duty, they all have normal jobs and lives which they enjoy. Whether it be farming or teaching, or simply raising their children. They are just like any other people, apart from what it is they teach their children, and what they practice. Tactics and the blade are foremost in the teachings of the people.
The Army
Rac's Steel is an extremely well organized and efficient machine of war. Long ago, the land was lead by Kings and royalty, but the last King died without giving birth to an heir. In order to avoid a chaotic era where people struggled for the throne, the generals of the army stepped in and declared themselves regents. None opposed this idea.
There are eight generals in total. One for the North, Northwest, West, Northeast, and East. Two for the home front, they mostly take care of the administrative duties. These are the eldest generals, who are no longer as capable in battle. And the last is a general of the forward, attacking part of the army. The last general commands the sole offensive aspect of Rac's Steel. Each of the generals command their own legion of troops. And each legion has it's own name.
Command Structure
Each general heads his own legion, and is responsible for their own region of Rodush. Two generals remain upon the homeland, and they oversee the policing and other administrative duties that come with ruling a country. All of the generals meet once every month to discuss matters, and decide upon certain courses of action when necessary.
For the most part, nothing needs to be discussed, and the meetings are very brief. Usually, Rac's Steel has everything well in hand when it comes to the defense of the Rodush. Mostly, they deliberate tactics, and attempt to devise new ideas that can help them win the frequent battles more effectively, with less loss of life on their side.
When in the field, the general has multiple people who are given the authority to act as they see fit, when they see fit. The orders which the general gives may not always be the best for a certain situation, so such men are used as insurance that the best course of action is always taken. They are like generals in training, with the rank of Commander. Under those men, there is only one other rank, the rank of Captain. They oversee small units of men, and make sure they follow orders as well. Every individual in Rac's Steel is a trained tactician as well as combatant, so that even the normal soldiers will have a grasp of tactics if they must decide on something for themselves.
The normal soldiers are organized by their level of skill with weapons and knowledge of tactics. There are levels one through ten. Lacking any commanding officers, lower levels will always obey those of a higher level.
