The way of life in Rodush is one of constant struggle to survive. Death is a daily occurrence, and so has been glorified throughout the long centuries of bloody warfare. Her people can be just as harsh as the land upon which they live. The passage of time has turned them into mirror images of one another. In more ways than one. Criminals of even the smallest infraction are dealt with swiftly and harshly. The law itself is a very simple, straightforward affair in the land of Rodush, reflecting the very militant mentality of the people who live there.
Here is a list of punishments for various crimes.
Treason
Death by disembowelment.
Murder
This punishment is partly an “eye for an eye” in it's idea. The number of people you killed will be the same as the number of your own family and friends killed in retribution. Friends or family of the lives you ended will be the ones to do the same to you. Once the corresponding number your own friends and / or family has been slain, you will then be put to death as well. In whatever way the aggrieved families or friends see fit.
Theft
The punishment for thievery is heavy. You will be forced into slavery for the person you stole from. All of your worldly possessions will also be given over to the person from whom you stole. If you have no possessions, a member of your family, chosen by the person(s) you stole from, will be forced to part with all of their possessions. If you have no family, then one of your friends will. If you have no friends, then you will be castrated as well as made into a lifelong slave.
If the victim does not want a save, he/she can give you to anyone he/she wishes, or they may decide to have you dropped off, a week into the Ashuth Wastes, with no supplies or clothing.
Rape
Rapists are castrated, and the victim can chose to have a member of the rapist's family raped in retribution. Often this is not the case. Once that is done, the rapist is tortured, though not killed. Neither are they cared for. They are also branded, so that no one may give aid to them. Then they wander the mountain passes or the towns of Rodush, where they quickly succumb to their festering wounds.
Their lives are also forfeit. Everyone knows this when they see the mark branded upon their shaved heads. Should anyone so chose, they may kill these people however they wish. Most leave them to suffer an agonizing death from their infected wounds.
